During the Oklahoma Centennial year in
2007 there were a lot of celebrations. Click

My sister-in-law, Carrie Snyder, graduated with a Fine Arts degree from OCCC and
was one of the volunteers who worked on the Devon Project. During the project
the volunteers inscribed their names and relative's names to the majority of the
tiles. The names were added before the tiles were fired.
During the second half of the '90's, a canal was constructed through Bricktown.
The North Canadian River is about .5 mile from Bricktown and after construction
of the canal, the river was tapped to allow water to fill the canal. The dedication
of the canal was in July 1999. The Devon Mosaic is at the end of the canal and
was dedicated in 2007. In 2007 a 7 mile stretch of the North Canadian adjacent to
OKC was renamed Oklahoma River.
